Birds on Film

Every time I visit Zealandia or another sanctuary I take a hundreds of photos of birds, photography is what I love doing the most and I’m happiest surrounded by birds with camera in hand. Occasionally if the opportunity presents itself I’ll attempt to take a video of a bird. I love taking photos, but can’t help but feel that videos give a much bigger picture of the experience of watching birds. Getting to hear the birds sing and move around gives so much more insight into their behaviour and personality than just a still photo.

Filming birds is hard work though, most of them move quickly and don’t stay still long enough to focus on, but somehow I’ve managed to build up quite a collection of bird videos over the years. Since I’m all about sharing how great our birds are, I had the idea to start a YouTube account, so I could share the videos I’ve been taking. I’ve got plenty of clips lined up, so if you want to see lots of bird videos please subscribe to my channel, I’d really appreciate it!
