North Island brown kiwi are found in patches of native forest where intense predator control is carried out. Sadly they don’t fare too well in rugged areas alongside introduced predators but they thrive in safe areas and benefit from amazing projects like Operation Nest Egg. Kiwi nui have beautiful dark brown fur-like feathers and like all kiwi are flightless, nocturnal and iconic!
